All those negative thoughts you have about the future and negative introspections about the past accumulate and cause anxiety. It may have started off with the small things, such as getting in the habit of cancelling plans at the last minute, believing you are a burden to people, blowing things out of all proportion when faced with a little adversity, the type of thing that you have handled really well in the past but find you can no longer cope with. Perhaps you have found you are intentionally isolating yourself from others more and more, or perhaps having frequent mood swings and feelings of emptiness.

The solution-focused approach enables you to begin to visualise your preferred future, it enables you to build up a picture step by step of how you would prefer things to be. It also enables you to describe during the sessions in detail how you would like things to be. This type of therapy then helps you to find the solutions and the necessary steps you need to take from within your own resources.
As for the hypnosis part of the session, this merely replicates the REM state, and allows you to deal with all these issues naturally and gently. During hypnosis you will feel an overwhelming sense of blissful relaxation and your mind can get to work ridding you of limiting beliefs, unhealthy negative thought patterns and unwanted addictions and habits. It will also help you to visualise and really get a feel for how your preferred future will be; which will serve to both enthuse and motivate you, pointing you in the right direction.
